Back on the Wagon

Man oh man, has it been hard to find a sliver of time in my days full of kiddos and stuff to put my simulating thoughts (ha!) down on dis here blog. But here I am, because well I just can't quit this... I like it too much (smiley face insert).
My Matt has been slacking on his Sanctifying Sunday editions too, but he just made me the above Gfree pizza, so forgiveness is all his.
Speaking of my man, it is always the best thang ever when Matt and I are able to take a night out by ourselves. I mean seriously is there anything better than being able to sit, eat, and talk without being interrupted every.single .5 seconds. (We did have Hope with us, but besides the new squawking sound she has recently been gracing us with, she is easy peasy.)
Our much needed date night was made possible, because my brother Nate watched our hoodlums plus his two for a sleep over movie night. Heck ya for them and hell ya for us!

To start our night out Matt says: "Hey, take a picture of me sporting the pink diaper bag and then you can blog for 'What I Wore Sunday'." He did look pretty cute, so of course I snapped the moment.

Livin' on our new Island we are bound and determine to discover every cool spot that there is, which honestly could take a lifetime. Last night we found this mural outside our favorite Island Sushi spot. So per usual we made our mark with a photo (or 20!).
I have just recently discovered Instagram (yes, I am a little slow in the uptaking) and I have become a tiny bit obsessed. Instagram just makes everything look SO amazing! So purdy please let me know if you have an account, because I want to follow you!

And because it is still Sunday (11:09pm to be exact), Happy Sunday y'all! I can't say I heard too much of the Gospel today at Mass due to a nursing babe and 3 other kiddos trying to touch or hold onto some part of me. But I can say that in the midst of being used as my 3 year olds kleenex day in and day out, I love being God's child and I am so thankful for the gift of life and love!

Makeover

Well, I have massively failed at blogging everyday. But so is life or at least my life.

Do you notice anything different about this here blog-o?
Yes, now you see it.
New design = awesomeness. Right?

I have followed in Graces blogging steps (because that is what any Grace obsessed fan member does) and used Jenna over at  Jenna Riley Design+ Creative for a new and updated look. If you are looking to do the same, Jenna is your gal. She is SO easy to work with and has a cute blog that you will not want to miss too.

Hiring Jenna was my Mother's Day present from Matt and the kids, so you can see how she even puts up with procrastinators and non decision makers like mu-ah (me), who likes every design and font, but at the same time can't figure out how her blog should look. Through multiple emails Jenna handled my back and forth ways in perfect stride. And so, to all of you 22 (23 on a good day) followers, you should use her blog makeover skills too!
Ps. Is "xo, Kristin" too much at the end of every blog post? I think its cute and it was Jenna's creative doing, but what do you think? Also, the grey on the side- I like it, but would just plain white be better on the eye? Oh the things for me to ponder today, that is why I need your help!

this here blog

I never thought I would blog. Ever. Eva.

Funny enough, I even use to be one of those people who was like: How does she have the time to blog everyday? I mean seriously, I can barely live my life, let alone pen it.

But now all things contradictory, of course... I pen it (or well type it). And I if I could, I would sit and write everyday. Thus, coming to understand how if you pen it, you really CAN still live it.

Blogging for me has become a HUGE cathartic outlet. It somehow has helped me to be a better person  (how, I don't know, but it has). It's so much fun to "feel connected" to the world at large and allow my friends and family to take a peek at my musings and our daily life through stories and pictures.

I have always loved the writing process (did I just say writing process?), thus, majoring in English writing in college and Theology (I have to put my double status out there), but after having kiddos, I stopped and if I did manage to write a word down it was a-spur-the-moment-thingy, usually after a glass or couple glasses of wine and was then quickly put the way side. blah blah blah.

One of the things I find super amusing about blogging is that I really do feel that I am best friends with different bloggers *ahem* Grace. And well, we are best friends! Right?? As you are with your other 8000+ followers. Or Jen, who recently moved to Naples and is best friends with Martha, and now through her blog I feel like we are super close. And we are super tight now, right??

Blogging has been just plain fun. Recording the happenings of our daily life, so that we never forget "these good or not so good ol' days". My mind and thoughts, no matter how el lamo, now have some sort of outlet. And my brain is being used, as well as spell check, so that I don't sound like some stupid blonde, which pretty please just let me think that I don't on this here platform. I also feel like blogging  has made me go beyond myself. And though it may sound odd, it helps me to be a better witness for Christ, because the scattered thoughts during my days in the midst of mostly baby talk are actually  getting put into sentence and paragraph form.

If anyone knows me, you know that I usually don't remember your birthday or anniversary and mountains are moved, literally, when I pick up the phone, which even then there are about a million interruptions from my kids. But somehow writing (via this site) just works for me.

So, what I am trying to say is for all you out there that read my words, thank you, I truly feel like I am talking to you and really do love sharing with you.

I have come a long way from that "I am never blogging" person. Even Isaiah said to me the other night, are you talking about your blog again? Haha! I don't think he even knows what the word blog means, but he sure knows that I enjoy it!
Had to include a pic, in case you just scrolled down past ALL my words.
